My first post for this year after one long month shows what a lazy blogger I am. Actually by the beginning of the year we had taken a short vacation to visit our parents but even after coming back it took me such a long time to get back into the groove. Whenever I stay away from the internet for a considerable period of time I find it very difficult to get back to my blogging routine. I felt as if I had fallen out of blogosphere and was really lost as to where to start and what to say. So I decided to give myself some more time. Anyway I'm happy now that I have something to share with you.
I used fingering weight yarns and size D/3.25 mm hook. The finished hexagon measures approximately 6.5 inches across.
I have written the pattern using American terms.
Abbreviations Used: Ch - chain, sl st - slip stitch, ch-sp - chain space, sc - single crochet, hdc - half double crochet, dc - double crochet,
Cluster - here means 2 dc stitches worked together in same space.
InstructionUsing yellow ch 4 and join with a sl st to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch 3, dc into ring, ch 4, (cluster, ch 4) 5 times into ring. Join with a sl st to 1st cluster.
Round 2: Join pink in any 4ch-sp, (sc, hdc, 5 dc, hdc, sc) in each space. Join to 1st sc.
Round 3: **ch 6, sc in next space between 2 petals** Repeat from ** to ** around. Push these chains behind the petals. Fasten off yarn.
Round 4: Join dark pink in any 6ch-sp and (sc, hdc, 4 dc, ch 1, 4 dc, hdc, sc) in each space.
Round 5: Join white and sc in same st, ch 7, **sc in ch 1 at the center of petal, ch 7, sc between next 2 petals, ch 7** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join the last ch 7 with a sl st to beginning of round.
Round 6: (cluster, ch 3, cluster) in same st, **(sc, ch 3, sc) in next 7ch loop, (cluster, ch 3, cluster) in next sc** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join with a sl st to the top of 1st cluster.
Round 7: **(cluster, ch 3, cluster, ch 3, cluster) in next 3ch-sp, ch 3, sc in next 3 ch-sp, (ch 5, sc in next 3ch-sp) twice, ch 3, ** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join with a sl st to 1st cluster.
Round 8: Sl st in next space, **ch 5, sc in next sp, (ch 3, sc in next sp) 5 times** Repeat from ** to ** 5 more times.
Round 9: Sl st in next sp, **ch 5, sc in same sp, (ch 5, sc in next sp) 6 times** Repeat from ** to ** 5 more times.
Round 10: Join blue and **(sc, ch 5, sc, ch 7, sc, ch 5, sc) in next 5ch-sp (corner space), 3 sc in each of the next 6 spaces** Repeat from ** to ** around.
This pretty lacy hexagon motif can be transformed into a potholder, doily or afghan. I hope you enjoy the pattern. If you come across any errors please do let me know so that I can correct it.
